Presenting the Superlatively Gifted Vocal Ensemble:

...Vocal Art Works!

Say "Hello" to the finger snapping, harmonizing, jazz vocal jazz ensemble, VOCAL ART WORKS! Whether singing hot or cool jazz, this vocal jazz act has earned respect and admiration from vocalists and jazz musicians alike. Their distinct sound comes from sophisticated and hip original vocal arrangements influenced by a wide range of groups such as the Manhattan Transfer, Stevie Wonder, The Andrew Sisters, The Hi-lo's, Bobby McFerrin and Lambert Hendricks & Ross.

VOCAL ART WORKS started out with a bang, singing their first performance at Bartley Ranch, July of 2003. Immediately following, they were invited to sing for Al Stewart's VIP party at the Cure for the Summertime Blues Festival. Vocal Art Works soon had requests for repeat performances for such venues as: the Air National Guard annual awards ceremony, Harrah's National Automobile Museum, The Jazz and Beyond Festival at the Brewery Arts Center and the Carson Music Club. VOCAL ART WORKS presents the A Cappella Jazz and Renaissance Show annually - Summer and Winter - as part of the Artown festival in Reno NV.

The singers collectively hold a broad base of musical knowledge and experience, drawing from the Nevada Opera, Harrah's Showroom house band, Mt. Hood vocal jazz ensemble, cabaret shows, musical comedy shows, barbershop/doo-wop groups and much more. "The sheer musicianship inherent in vocal jazz requires exacting pitch, rhythm, and vocal agility. We are blessed to have such amazing talent in this group," says Leslie A. Fudge, artistic director and vocal arranger.

Ms. Fudge brings decades of vocal jazz experience dating back to the time when she performed and studied with the Mt. Hood Vocal Jazz ensemble in Oregon, a national hot bed of vocal jazz. She holds a Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology with special studies in Voice and is nationally certified MS. SLP-CCC by the American Speech/Language Association (ASHA). Leslie also holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music/Music Education.
